Discovering Cumbria & the North East – My First Regent Tour!

I’ve just returned from my first tour with Regent, and what an amazing experience it was! Over three fabulous nights, we explored the stunning sights of Cumbria and the North East.

Our journey began at Levens Hall, just five miles from Kendal. This historic gem is home to the world’s oldest topiary gardens – and yes, there was even cake to enjoy!

We stayed at Redworth Hall, a beautiful hotel set in a serene estate. With lovely surroundings, a spa, and incredible food, the highlight for me was definitely breakfast – a perfect start to each day.

The tour took us to charming towns and cultural treasures, including Bishop Auckland, the Bowes Museum with its famous Silver Swan, Barnard Castle (where ice cream with new friends was a must!), and the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. We also explored Haworth, famed for its delightful cafes (and now famous for ladies of the tour using the gents loos on the station haha)

The absolute highlight of the weekend was Kynren, a spectacular journey through England’s rich history brought to life by local performers of all ages. Truly a breathtaking experience!

It was an unforgettable first tour for me, and I think I can safely say that all our passengers thoroughly enjoyed every moment

Thanks for all being such a wonderful bunch for “David Deputy Dog”

I can’t wait for the next adventure with Regent!
