My Unforgettable Stay at Makadi Bay Hotel

I recently had the chance to escape to the Makadi Bay Hotel, and I can honestly say it was one of the most breathtaking experiences of my life. Nestled between the desert dunes and the Red Sea Mountains, this resort sits on Egypt’s western Red Sea coast, perfectly located between Safaga and Hurghada.

Waking Up in Paradise

From the moment I arrived, I was captivated. My spacious room opened onto a view of the turquoise Red Sea, and stepping out felt like entering a postcard. I spent my mornings lounging by the infinity pool, the water stretching endlessly into the horizon. And when I wanted a little pampering, the Spa & Wellness Centre was my sanctuary—complete bliss.

A Culinary Journey at Makadi Mall

One of my favourite parts of the stay was the food. The hotel is part of the all-inclusive “Dine Around” programme, which means I could explore six different restaurants at Makadi Mall without worrying about the bill (drinks excluded).

I started with Egyptian dishes, then tried Indian curries, Chinese favourites, Italian pasta and pizza, and even indulged in French cuisine. Every meal was a new adventure. In the evenings, I wandered through the mall’s shops and caught a few live shows, enjoying the evening entertainment programme under the stars.

Exploring Makadi Bay and Beyond

Makadi Bay is a paradise for anyone who loves the sea. The waters are perfect for snorkelling and diving, and there are opportunities to learn to dive if you’ve never tried before. Even if you prefer to stay on land, there are plenty of suggested trips and activities nearby:

  • A Cairo day trip to see the Pyramids and the Egyptian Museum.

  • Snorkelling trips to Orange Bay for vibrant coral reefs.

  • Visiting the monasteries of St Anthony & St Paul in the desert.

  • Shopping for gold and local crafts in Hurghada and Makadi Mall.

Pro Tip: Don’t forget beach shoes

Why I Loved Makadi Bay Hotel

What I loved most about this hotel was how it balanced relaxation and adventure. I could spend my morning in the infinity pool, enjoy world-class meals, then take in the stunning desert and sea views—all in one trip. The staff were friendly, the rooms spacious, and the location unbeatable.

Whether you’re here for the Red Sea diving, spa days, or simply to unwind in paradise, Makadi Bay Hotel is a place you’ll never forget.
